The Parks Gold Series eyepieces are an improvement on the standard 4-element Plossl (2:2) design. A fifth element has been added to the middle (2:1:2) to control edge-of field aberrations and false color.  Based on the Carl Zeiss Astroplanokular, these Japanese-made eyepieces truly represent the sharpest and best of all the 50 degree eyepieces, and rank with the very best eyepieces made.  All that you get when you spend more is a wider field of view.

Fully multicoated, they are available in 35, 30, 25, 20, 15, 10, 7.5, 5, and 3.8mm focal lengths.  All are 1.25″ outside diameters and are threaded for filters.  We have a limited number without safety undercuts, for those who prefer that.

To keep the eye reliefs long enough for comfort, the 5mm and 3.8mm focal lengths have a built-in barlow lens (making the design a 2:1:2:2 configuration) so they have the same eye reliefs as the 10mm and 7.5mm respectively.

All have a 50 degree field of view except the 35mm, which is 49 degrees.  The 35mm has the largest true field of view of any eyepiece in a 1.25″ barrel, about 7% wider than most 32mm or 40mm Plossls.
